This year, Children's Medical Clinics of East Texas has begun transitioning our practice to fully implement healthcare recommendations from Bright Futures in order to continue to provide your children with the highest quality amd most complete medical care.
Bright Futures is a national health promotion and preventative initiative, lead by the American Academy of Pediatrics and supported by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, Health Resources and Services Administration. The Bright Futures Guidelines provide theory-based and evidence driven guidance for all preventative care screenings and well-child visits. For more information, you may go to the Bright Futures website (https://brightfutures.org) or get their app from the ITunes Store.
Bright Futures recommends that by utilizing the combination of improved screening guidelines, diagnostic tools and a gowned exam, we will be able to better evaluate children of all ages for developmental issues, autism, high cholesterol, diabetes, tuberculosis, as well as other behaviors and infections that could jeapordize the health of a child.
