Disappearing Drugs
Many drugs linger on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's drug shortage list. Since the nationwide drug shortage began in 2006, the number of drugs in short supply rose dramatically, more than quadrupling over five years to a record 267 in 2011, according to the University of Utah Drug Information Service, which tracks national drug shortages.
